bio blitz November 1st 2016

This is a praying mantis if you look carefully you can see him. Praying mantises are sometimes vary hard to spot because of there camouflage. They are green and so they blend into the grass to hide. My favorite part about bio blitz was  the insect section. There was three sections: birds, fish and insects. I got to catch different insects and see them. It was really cool to find the praying mantis. Then we went to the sand duns and I think that part was kinda boring. But getting to see the fur was cool. I liked running up the sand dunes. When we got to the sand dunes we ate lunch and I climbed this one little hill and it was fun.

The first thing we did to get ready for the alkaseltzer blast off we asked a question that we would answer. Then we made a prediction, and then we would test it. My groups question was would it go higher if we put more or less alkaseltzer? When we tested it we started with 1/4 of alkaseltzer and it went about 3.4 meters we did it two times it went the same height both times. Then we did 1/2 and it went 4.00 meters. then we did 1 whole alkaseltzer and it went about 5.00 meters. So we found out that if we put more alkaseltzer  in the container it would go higher it got higher each time by 1 meter. Then we  got in different groups and we combined the tests that went higher and see how high it would go. When we tested it we did hot water less water and 1/2 of alkaseltzer and it went I think 5.6 meters so it went higher than the last one. Then we did a final test we put 10mm of water and 1 alkaseltzer and warm water it went 6.00 meters. I think it was really fun. It was cool to see other peoples ideas.
